The Denza Z9 sedan is getting ready to start sales in China
The Denza Z9 is an elegant sedan of a fairly large size. The car spotted in one of the showrooms is displayed as a sample. It has a black body color and chrome multi-spoke wheels. The Z9 has a continuous hood line, sloping A-pillars and a smooth roof line. There are double-decker headlights at the front, and signature Denza lights at the rear. The sedan measures 5235 x 1990 x 1500 mm, and the wheelbase is 3125 mm.
Inside, the Denza Z9 presents many luxury features. The center console of this sedan has three screens: a 13.2-inch LCD instrument panel, a 17.3-inch floating main screen and a 3.2-inch passenger display. There are also two smaller screens. One is in the rearview mirror, and the other is for controlling the refrigerator. There are four more screens in the second row: two on the front seats and two displays for the climate control.
Other features of the Denza Z9 include an augmented reality head-up display, two wireless charging pads for phones, a refrigerator, and up to 26 Devialet speakers. The plug-in hybrid variant of the Denza Z9 sedan is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged ICE engine with 204 hp and three electric motors with a total output of 858 hp. It has a combined range of 1,100 km. The all-electric variant of the Z9 sedan has three motors with an output of 951 hp. Thanks to a 100 kWh battery, it can travel up to 630 km.
The Denza Z9 sedan has a similar price range to the Denza Z9 GT wagon: from $47,100 to $58,400.
Recall that Denza was originally a joint brand of BYD and Mercedes-Benz, founded in 2010. In 2021, the German automaker reduced its stake in Denza to 10%. And in 2024, BYD bought out the remaining shares from Mercedes. The Denza model range includes the Denza D9 minivan, the Denza N7 and N8 crossovers, and the Denza Z9 GT wagon.
