1928 500cc Rudge Whitworth.
This machine is a part restored older restoration. Basically a machine someone has started to restore and never quite completed although a lot of work has been done.
It is UK registered on the number BF 9364 and this is on the DVLA computer. Unfortunately the last owner has misplacedthe V5C, so I will be applying for that during the auction. But it is UK registered and down as first registered in May 1928. All the engine frame and gearbox numbers are clear as crystal and look right for that time period.
The bike turns over with good compression but no attempt has been made to start it. The rear stand needs a spring, front brake cable a nipple, electrics need adding and so forth. So I am selling this as an unfinished project but it looks to me like a lot of work has been done. It is a rare / early machine and must have been one of the first saddle tank machines at that sort of period.
