1951 Vincent Rapide. Not a matching numbers bike. I’ve owned it for 10 years. The motor was redone in South Africa by the best Vincent specialist (85 yrs old now) in the country and one of the best worldwide. I put around 200 miles on it in the last 10years.I restored the rest of the bike 3 years ago at huge cost.Because it is not a matching numbers bike,I went to town on it.It literally looks like Jewelery. I triple plated all the casings and fittings so that I never had to polish the aluminum again.The frame and body have 4 coats of paint and 8 coats of clear.Every other item, mechanical or trim was either VOC supplied or restored.I own 8 of these and if you know or had one you understand the nightmare of keeping it in concourse condition visually.It is almost impossible to do so continuously.This bike always looks fantastic merely with a slight rubdown.I had it sitting without fluids, never run for the last three years as art in my entrance to my warehouse.5 weeks ago I sent it to an extremely well respected specialist to fettle and re commission for the road. He did a fantastic job.It cost 7500$. It starts, runs and drives flawlessly and is ready for anything.This is probably the best looking Vincent out there.Concourse winning matching numbers bikes will never look like this because they never looked this good from the factory.I have decided to put a few of them up for sale over the foreseeable future and this is the first.Buy with absolute confidence.
