This Mercedes was worth the time and effort we spent refreshing it after some time in hibernation. It has excellent real leather seats, outstanding door panels, nice headliner, seat belts, factory power brakes, and a rebuilt engine with low km on it. In addition we have a receipt for a $6000 gearbox overhaul and the conversion to a floor shift. The doors shut with that unique sound and there is NO RUST needing repair.
We have given it a good clean, a tuneup, and put on 4 new tyres, plus new Koni shock absorbers. The 6 cyl OHC 220S has twin carbs. They can sit on freeway speeds in modern traffic conditions. I love the 'pontons' !
The bumpers have excellent chrome, although some of the lower body mouldings have dents, and there is minor pitting on the door handles. The original colour of Moss Green will pass ' the six foot test', but any closer and you can see surface paint blemishes.
This car is a candidate for Historic Registration. Was previously on full rego in WA, and before that in NSW. Its now looking for a good home, and it should bring you great joy. Can be driven home on your temp plates.
