Seller Description

Every now and then you have to make one of those decisions in life that breaks your heart... Exactly whats happening here!
Against every ounce of better judgement, the time has come to be responsible and sell my absolute pride and joy, words cannot describe how tough this sale will be for me, or just how much this car means to me and my family.
Affectionately known in our family as "Honey," this beautiful old girl has to be inspected in person to be appreciated for just how exceptional she is.
I bought this car many years ago as a project to build with my father, where every nut and bolt is the original part (with matching numbers all round,) and was a labor of love for us. I am the second owner of the car having purchased it directly from the original owners grandchildren, where it had basically sat in storage for 12 years after he passed away. The only thing I opted to change from the original was the colour scheme, deciding to go straight white vs the original Warrigul Grey White roof combination it previously had.
Believe it or not the interior remains untouched since factory, every trim, every panel is the original and is in brilliant condition with no cracks, splits or fades, etc in fact the springs are even still pretty firm for their age! I quite literally took the interior out, restored the car, then put it back in.

Original 149 engine with approx. 69,XXX miles on the clock (matching numbers) with 3spd manual column shift and original gearbox etc - all drives like a dream (as you expect with these gearboxes take a bit of getting used to their temperament, but drives exactly how it should.) My original resto was done over 10 years ago, where the car has since had the following completed in the last 12 months;
- Full rust repair and protection (finished Oct 2020)
- Full door shut bare metal respray (Oct 2020)
- New door & Boot locks fitted
- New shocks and all suspension replaced (springs in front and new leafs in rear - slightly lowered)
- New Brakes (Drums and shoes) all round
- New wheel cylinders all round
- New brake lines & hoses all round
- New brake master cylinder and Clutch cylinder (and all lines replaced)
- Full major service including all fluids flushed, Radiator re-refurbishment and also steering alignment reset
- 4 x brand new Khumo Tyres fitted (Oct 2020) and then white & red walls applied
- New battery (incl. isolator set up)
- Complete engine and safety check also completed.
All of the above was carried out and got the car back in October 2020, where it has since driven one local trip and other than that has just been started routinely to keep her healthy.
Please, the sale is heartbreaking enough where I'm open to offers but pls don't be silly about it.
Would love to even stay in touch with the view to potentially re-purchase some time down the track when my situation allows. (That's how special she is!)
The plates will come with the car for the right price as they have been on it since day 1 of my ownership, and just finish her off nicely.
My background is in the Auction game of these classics where they are currently fetching in excess of mid $50k's now and still climbing as desire continues for the original, un-modified style.
Come and have a look, she will not disappoint.
