Seller Description

Im going to say this once as ive had sooooo many issues selling stuff on ebay lately. This is an AUCTION / no offers at all and do not wait to see if the buyer doesnt buy it. Highest bidder winsNO RESERVE!If you win, you pick up the car and you pay me.Serious buyers / collectors only and you can come inspect the Camaro.
You are looking at my seriously loved 1968 Chevy Camaro RS / SS mock up. Also know as Red Rocket, my first project car and I bought this with the intent to race her in the London to Sydney Ralley one day.It has:400ci small block4 speed Muncie boxHuge holley carbyHigh perfomance manifoldRoller rockersMsd ignition systemPretty sure a detroit locker diffBreak line lockerTramp rods (thus the car is angled and looks bad as)Fiber glass bonnethurst shifterHooker ExtractorsHuge exhaust split / dual the hole wayStill left hand drive.
So this car starts and runs like a boss! I'm still so happy with how it starts, i took a video of it for you. This is literally cold, didn't pump the peddle before and starting it 6hrs after driving it out the garage to wash her, like a dream.https://youtu.be/XTb6L75TpLM
I purchased this car in November 2006 and it did need some work but I fell in love with it so I shipped it down from Queensland. I never legally put it on the road in NSW however It was registered in QLD and has a QLD engernieers plate on it but with all the new laws i dont know what this means for Red in NSW.This potentially was never going to be street legal with my intent to race her in the London to Sydney and other events this is also this is why i never registered her. This sadly didn't stop me and I would put plates on her and I would drive around and take her to car shows but never showed it as it needed a paint job.In the last 14 years ive spent alot of money on this car and dont know where to begin. I didnt collect many original spare parts for her as all the money went into fixing it or modifying it!This spraypaint is what exactly what is was when i purchased it in 06 nothing special lots of imperfections few dents and scratches here and there. It Never ended up happening because i couldn't decide on the paint! The same marone? or midnight black gloss? or matt finish? or original body colour from the factory which is white? Still cant decide? ahaha.
This is why im selling it, will probably sit another 14 years and i just dont have the time like i used to and its time to see her go to someone dying to build it up like i once wanted to do 14 years ago.It is a factory V8 body Built in LA and took a photo of the plate for you.I do literally love this car and have some fun memories in it and had serious fun working on it too.Since i purchased it ive done the following:New MSD box distributer and plug setReplaced so many old bolts / screws with new stainless or high tensile exact replica bolts / screws.New fuel tankNew fuel senderNew fuel lines and New fuel filterNew pumpNew clutch stuffNew break stuffNew air filter (went to put it in and they gave me the wrong one so its coming this week)New engine decal partsNew gaskets all over the placeRetrimmed heaps of the interiorBrand New manual centre consolOther stuff i cant even remember ahaha
What it needs:Paint job Like i said it was acrappy when i purchased it but no real rust just a few bubbles and surface rust spots coming through now.Front guards to be rolled / flared because tryes rub. (Never got this done as i couldnt decide on the paint)When they put this box in it they modified the body to get this to fit so two spots need to be closed off / welded (again didnt get this done because i couldn't decide on the colour)Various switches or nobbs missing from the dash.Speedo doesnt work not sure if cable or speedo.Second gear synchro is done.Because of the hurst shifter you can't put in the console so need to change the shifter or modify the console because it cost me so much i could not cut the console ahahaSterio doesnt work I loved the sound of this engine and exhaust that much the entire time i drove it, only ever listened to her perr or roar when you open her up.

I just remembered the drivers / left door. Push in handle latch is worn, it opens it but sometimes its real hard to push in
With the sale of the car you are getting all the parts i have for it, original tank, original bonnet hinges and latch and other old parts i pulled off it.
I may have missed some stuff but if i find it you get it.
Happy bidding on Red Rocket
