Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very nice MG Midget in great colors. This car was recently purchased from it's Tennessee seller who largely restored this car to this lovely overall condition that you see it in today. It's finished in arguably the best color combination for a British roadster, and is also fitted with the desirable wire wheel option, with the huge bonus of an expensive 5-speed gearbox conversion. It drives well and is lots of fun out on the road with it's cheeky looks.
The bodywork on this car is quite decent and straight, with good opening and closing panels. The car's trunk shows it was a factory BRG car. The car underneath appears completely rustfree. Paintwork was a modest older repaint but is still nice and glossy. It's showing some age in the form of a few chips and touch-ups, some light lifting along some of the body joints. Nevertheless, it's still quite handsome in it's Dark British Racing Green color. Brightwork is mostly newer and excellent all the way around including new crisp light lenses. The light tinted windshield is newer, set in a beautiful polished frame with a new gasket.
The car's interior is it's cosmetic highlight. It's very well fitted with proper vinyl seat kits in biscuit. Carpets are beautiful and clean in dark brown. Door panels were also renewed. A dash top cap has been fitted. A newer matching biscuit soft top completes the job. There's protective floormats fitted with a new seat belt set. The original steering wheel is a nice touch.
Mechanically, the car appears to have a rebuilt and well-detailed1275cc engine mated to a custom 5-speed gearbox. The pair work well together and pushes the little car briskly along the road. PLEASE SEE DRIVING VIDEO. The suspension and brakes look like they have been attended to. There's a stainless exhaust fitted. We've tuned and balanced the carb set and the engine pulls very well through all of the gears with a fantastic exhaust note. There's some upgrades added including spin-on oil filter, electric cooling fan, and electronic ignition. It's a great performer with healthy mechanicals.
Overall, a very nice Midget that's being offered in an attractive package: Dark British Racing Green with Biscuit trim and top. Wire wheels, 1275cc, 5-speed. One would be hard pressed to find a similar car currently on offer, and surely this car is good value.
