You can find many cars that have been restored but to locate one that is a virtualSurvivor (A car that is still retaining its original paint & parts as it came from the factory when new) in fantastic condition is not an easy task - They are only original once!
This low original mileage 1971 Triumph TR6 is almost a100%complete example of a survivor car. All mechanical components (engine-drivetrain) are original to the car. Exterior paint and interior are original as well. This car has never been wrecked or had touch up paint work done. The beautiful Saffron Yellow paint has exceptional gloss and looks almost as nice as the day it was made! This is only a 2 family owned car (not counting me) with the last family, who I purchased it from, owning it since ~1973. It has always been garaged and only driven as a "fun Sunday cruiser or for car show display"- Never a daily driver. It has been maintained well over the years and comes with a great file of maintenance that has been preformed on it. Original mileage is below 39,000 miles.
Below is a list of the only upgrades that have been done to this TR6 to keep it from being a 100% Survivor:
* New High Grade ConvertibleCloth Top - Professionallyinstalled. Original had plastic windows degrading and hard to see out of.* New Coker Red Line Tires.* Replaced Points & Condenser with a more reliable electronic upgrade - Have original parts.* Replaced radio with upgraded unit - Do not have original radio.* Replaced hoses & belt - Have original.* Replaced spark plugs.* Replaced Alternator - Have original.* Replaced sun visors - Originals fell apart.* Newly replaced battery.* New floor mats.* Replaced carpeted trunk tray.* Replaced seat belts for safety - Have originals.* Spin on oil filter (Better system & easier to service) - Have original.
Car comes with original convertibleboot and tonneaucover for when the top is down.
This 71 TR6 drives out exceptionally well and preforms just as it should. Transmission shifts well and the engine has great power with the original dual carb set up. There are virtually no leaks to this car when parked other than a couple of dime size drips, that's it! Does not use oil. As solid of a British car as you can find. Frame and floor pans are solid. You will see a few spots on some of the painted surfaces under the hood. This is not rust through only exposed primer or light surface rust where some of the paint has been chipped. Don't know the reason for the chipping. Body wise there are a few lower places where some of the original paint has been chipped off during the years exposing some of the under primer but there is no rust through what so ever. A very solid body.
Please review the attached pics for overall condition. You will see a scratch or two with a couple of minor dings but please remember this car is virtually a time capsule from 1971 (Build date - Jan 1971). It has not been messed with and should stay that way I believe. If the buyer feels otherwise it is a perfect candidate for a full restoration or just minor touching up! I doubt if there are many still out there in this nice of original of condition. The only upgrades preformed are ones that make it a better sports car.

Since this British sports car is reaching 50 years old it is being sold "as-is as best described" with no warranty or guarantee implied. There might be some additional maintenance to preform since it is almost all original but none I know of keeping it from being an enjoyable car as it is.
