Seller Description

Smooth running, riding and driving rust-free 1974 Lincoln Continental Mark IV coupe with 84,500 miles. Please read entire listing and carefully view all photos before making an offer or
inquiring, thanks.
Rare “Medium Dark Gold Metallic” color exterior (paint code
was 6M – I can’t even find photos online of a Mark IV with this color - it
looks more like a metallic dark green to me) with gold velour cloth seats (an
upgrade option in 1974) and tan “Calvary Twill Vinyl” top. Manufacture date of
October 1973 (per door jamb sticker) makes this one of the first 1974 model
year Mark IVs produced.
Factory Ford 460 CID V8.
I purchased this car at an estate sale in August 2019. It
had been stored in a climate-controlled garage for many years.
I had $1800 in mechanic work done to awaken this sleeping
beauty (receipts included). Repairs included: new fuel tank and sending unit,
new front pads and rotors, new rear brake cylinders and springs, new master
cylinder, new Edelbrock 14054 Performer 600 CFM carburetor and electric choke, lube,
oil, filter. The original carburetor is included if you want to rebuild it
and/or sell it.
Car runs, drives and stops like a luxury car of that era
should.
The car could use: tires (although the tires have decent
tread and the car rides smoothly, I would not dive the car for long trips on
the current tires as they are old; new tires would also take care of the
mis-matched whitewall width on the one passenger side front tire), coolant
change, new spark plugs, and air conditioning (likely needs a new compressor).
Body and interior are in very good condition – see photos. There
is normal wear and blemishes on a car of this age. Minor issues include: interior
door handle leather pulls have cracks in them (see photo), driver door arm rest
has wear and a very small crack in it (see photo), and some pitting on parts of chrome
and some areas of discoloration. I can find no significant rust anywhere on
this car, and certainly no rot, with only of a few minor surface spots, some of
which were touched-up with paint. A few small stone chips in headlight covers. See
photo of one area of rear bumper (vertical part). Small dents/scrapes on hubcaps.
The car isn’t perfect - keep in mind it’s 46-years old - but
it is a good, straight, solid vehicle. Please review all the photos carefully. I
want you to know 100% what you are buying with no surprises. I’m not a mechanic
nor a body/detail guy, so you’re getting a description from a layman in layman
terms, but I have tried to be as accurate as possible. The car looks to be all original,
but I can’t say for sure.
Please ask any questions. I’m not a professional
photographer (I took all photos with my iPhone) but I am willing to take more
photos or do a video call to better show you the car.
I did not wax this car; I only gave it a waterless spray
wash. Nor did I clean the engine compartment.
Clear title is in my name, ready to be transferred to the
new owner. If you live in Pennsylvania, I would be happy to also transfer the
current antique tags to you. My mechanic gave the car a Pennsylvania inspection
good until May 2021, although he didn’t need to as it’s titled as an antique
vehicle.
If you are local to me (I’m located about 40 minutes south
of Lancaster, PA), you are more than welcome to see the car in person (BEFORE
you bid/offer/buy, please). I do reserve the right to end the auction early if
I sell the car locally.
I would be happy to assist in shipping this car anywhere in the world
at the buyer’s expense (I sold one classic car here on eBay to a nice gentleman
in Austria). I know how much these cars are loved outside the U.S., but in all
cases funds must clear my bank before I will let the car leave my possession.
The car is sold as-is with no warranty or guarantee or
return.
$500 Paypal deposit due upon winning bid, balance due (cash,
wire, or certified funds) within 3 days. The car will not leave my possession
until funds clear my bank.
If you plan to buy or make an offer on the car, please have
your money available and in order beforehand. No trades please. Any inspections
must be done before sale, not afterwards.
All shipping costs and arrangements are the sole
responsibility of the buyer.
