Used 1980 Can-Am

This is a nice example of a 1980 Can Am MX-6 (400cc). I searched for one of these for over a year before I found this one up north. Plans have changed and I have decided to sell it. I have it listed as a project bike only because I have not attempted to start it. However, If I can break away from work this will try to do so and will update the listing accordingly.
Bike info: This bike is in overall good condition for its age. Fenders and front # plate look really nice, side plates and tank do as well. As you can see in one of the pictures the pipe has had a weld repair (looks like a professional job. Also both forks have been repaired by the axle clamps(also looks like a professional repair). This was a common problem with many of the KTM and Can Am fork bottoms of that era. Fork tubes are in nice shape. Also I believe the shocks on the bike are original and do have some pitting. Other than those items the only other thing I could find wrong is a seal leak at the kick start shaft. The bike has good compression, rims & tires look pretty good. Seat is original and looks to be in really good shape. Handlebars and controls are in working order. I am open to a multi- part payment set up if we discuss prior to purchasing. I do have several reasonable shippers I have been using for the past 5 plus years that I could refer. Once the bike is paid for I have no problem storing for a month or two until your shipper can pick up. I want this to be a stress free purchase for the new owner.
