Seller Description
I’ve decided to sell my restored low mileage 1982 Honda CB900C bike. It currently has only 18,894 original miles on it. I bought it on 6/21/2019, but have ridden it only a few hundred miles since then. So, I’m selling it because I’m just not riding it like I thought I would.
If you expand the first picture, you may be able to see Pikes Peak poking up just above the trees in the foreground.
My bike is completely restored to an excellent “Daily driver” condition. I spent about a year restoring it: rebuilt Front and Rear Brakes (new brake shoes and pistons); new Front Brake Master Cylinder; new upper and lower steering stem bearings; extremely rare NOS Vetter Windjammer SS Fairing with super rare built-in Italian Fiamm horns; new Slipstreamer Windshield; extremely rare NOS Vetter Lowers; correct Handlebar; mechanical cruise control; new Handlebar grips; reupholstered Saddle; new spark plugs, wires, and noise suppressors; completely rebuilt carburetors; new tires (less than 200 miles on them), professionally rebuilt front forks with progressive springs; Hondaline engine crash guard; Hondaline sissy bar with zip storage pocket; and extremely rare, matching maroon color Hondaline saddlebags and top trunk. I think the maroon color is probably the prettiest Honda ever came out with.
So, my bike operates as good as new.
In case you don’t know, this model has the rare dual range 5-speed transmission (Hi/Lo), which allows you to split all speeds for a total of 10 speeds. The “Hi” range drops the 5th gear speed over 500 RPM. So, the RPM at 60 MPH in the Hi 5th gear is only 3500-a very comfortable RPM. As a result, the “Hi” range provides a very nice “overdrive” for long distance cruising.
Some other specs:. Horsepower: 95 hp @ 9000 RPM. Torque: 56.7 lb-Ft @ 8000 RPM. Top Speed: 135 mph. Redline: 9500 RPM. Engine: 901 cc (54.9 Cu. Inch) air-cooled DOHC (Dual Overhead Cam) 16-Valve In-line Four. Weight (wet): 598 lbs.. Carburetion: Four 32 mm Keihin carbs. Final Drive: Shaft. Wheelbase: 62”. Compression ratio: 8.8:1. Ignition: Induction electronic. Front suspension: 37 mm air assisted forks. Rear suspension: Dual air assisted shocks. Front brakes: 2 x 280 mm discs, 2 piston calipers. Rear brakes: Single 297 mm disc, 1 piston caliper. Fuel capacity: 4.4 US gallons (includes 0.8 gallons Reserve).
Consumption average: 41.2 mpg (high--50 mpg; low--30 mpg). Standing 1/4 Mile: 11.9 sec/111 mph. Top speed: 125 mph. 4 into 4 exhaust system. Color of the fairing, lowers, saddlebags, and top trunk is maroon-probably the most attractive color Honda ever produced
Included in this auction are: the original owner’s manual; the original tool bag with all tools; extra oil filters; original steering damper weight; original vacuum-operated fuel diaphragm; throttle assist wrist rest; rare back rest extenders; and miscellaneous spare parts.
Local pickup is an option. But I will assist the winning bidder with coordinating with the shipper of the bidder's choice.
