The story on this bike... it’s a 1983 1000cc ironhead sportster. XLX model. This bike was first registered in the uk in 1988. The story I was told was it was at some stage taken from the uk over to France. Where it sat in a barn for 15 odd year maybe longer. It then came back to the uk.

It was never registered in France. To clarify the bike is fully uk registered
The patina on this bike is Legit no fake stuff.I bought the bike as a mostly stock bike which wasn’t on the road. I bought it back in 2019. And since gone through the whole bike. The original speedo speedo has 15k miles on the clock with no reason to believe otherwise going with the history. The list below is what’s been done in the last year of ownership...
.Rebuilt forks, new fork fluid.Single sprung seat,.Vintage p pad.1950s triumph SLS drum brake machined to take harley axle, new bearings and inner bearing spacer.panhead top clamp. Vintage dogbone risers.3/8 triumph handle bars.. 3/8 brake lever and new brake cable. New Barnet clutch cable. Rebuilt S&S super E with teardrop filter & manifold.coker 1940s style front tyre.new Shinko rear tyre.no speedo or indicators. (Wires still there).1970s #1 high backrest with speed hole brackets.new primary fluid.new grips. New engine oil.rebuilt rear brake master cylinder with new brake fluid. New rear brake switch. SHovelhead rear shocks.all new oil lines.fishtail exhaust.New plugs
All done since I bought the bike. Needs a little TLC in places, slight rocker cover leak (looks damp but never drips) probably a service ready for this year.Me and the wife rode this bike all through lockdown last year, I stopped using the bike after last summer, it’s been in the garage since and started up and rode round the garage yard every other week. MOT expired last year and is since sorn. Starts up lovely and rides. I do have the yellow UK plate just not bolted on In the pictures. Id be keeping this bike for this summer but with a newborn baby on the way and relocating out of the country I can’t keep it.
