Corvette
The fourth
generation Chevrolet Corvette or C4 represented a clean break from the curvy
lines of the previous generation, with a completely new chassis and styling
that maintained that classic wedge shapes but with a sleeker and modern twist.
The C4 was the first general production Corvette to have an opening glass hatch
back for better storage access. Amongst a range of upgrades, the removable top
became one piece for a more open feel in the cabin with the option of a clear
roof section as you see fitted in this car.
This particular
example is a 1985 model which was the first year for the L98 350ci V8 engine
with Bosch tuned port fuel injection, up 25hp over the previous year. The car
is a nice clean unmodified example showing 136K miles on the clock from the
factory. The transmission is the original THM 3 speed Automatic with overdrive
which shifts smoothly on the road. Under the bonnet is as clean and tidy as the
rest of the car and presents extremely well. Lots of cool options were ticked
when the car was ordered from new including air conditioning, power windows,
leather seats, cruise control and optional transparent removable top. The
bright red paintwork is in very good condition and shines brightly in the sun.
The chrome on the standard corvette wheels is bright and looks great against
the striking colour scheme of the car.
Inside the car
features the original leather trim in good condition all round. Likewise the
woodgrain trim on the dash and centre console is all in good condition. The
coolest feature inside is the digital dash which is a typically futuristic 80s
vibe and functions as it should.

The car retains its factory LHD steering
position just the way that GM built and engineer the car.
Since his ownership
he has a new exhaust installed, tinted the windows, added a remote alarm
system, had the steering wheel retrimmed, had new Pedders rear shock fitted and
rebuilt the dash, imported 4 new tyres for the original 16Г—8 rims, installed a
new thermo fan, new oil sensor, coolant sensor, headlight switch and a new
battery. The car has been serviced regularly as has the transmission. Currently
on QLD registration but all consignment vehicles are sold unregistered.
It is becoming more
and more difficult to source great original unmodified examples of these 80s
Corvettes. This is a well maintained and well sorted example ready for to find
