Seller Description

Here for sale is my 1978 Honda NC50.It’s in excellent condition and has recently been refurbished’ rather than restored. At the outset I should say that, try as I might, I can’t get the headlight to work.Everything else is all good …. brake lights, tail lamp, flashers, parking lamp, charging, horn … all working as they should.Perhaps someone with more talent than me and with a better understanding of 6 volt electrics will have more success with the headlamp. And while on the subject of faults, the only other one I should highlight is a crack in the headlamp casing.(see pic 6). The tag on the underside of the headlamp casing that supports the rim was broken off.Although it’s now secure, I haven’t made a particularly good job of re-attaching it.The moped was in rather a poor state when I got it but, as you will see from the pics, it’s now in excellent condition.Although the frame and forks were rust free, the paint was poor.I’ve had them sandblasted and powder coated which should ensure they remain rust-free for years to come. All the bulbs have been replaced.

It has a new battery, front brake shoes and decals. All the switches work as they should. Both tyres are good and there are no bursts in the seat. The cylinder head and barrel were removed, the piston lands cleaned, and the barrel was deglazed. The head was de-coked’ and all were re-assembled with new gaskets. The exhaust copper gasket was also replaced. The carburettor has been completely dismantled, cleaned and re-assembled ensuring all the jets and passageways are clear and free from debris. As can be seen in the pics, the chrome is mostly good with only the light surface corrosion mainly on the wheel rims and rear carrier. It has a rare front carrier and an even rarer front basket. For those that may not know, these little 2 stroke Hondas do not require the petrol and oil to be mixed in the correct ratio before being added to the fuel tank. There are separate tanks for oil and petrol; and an engine driven pump draws in oil and delivers it to the engine, along with the petrol, in the correct proportions. The oil pump has also been dismantled, thoroughly cleaned, re-assembled and bled.(pic 9).The V5c document is present and in my name there are only2 former keepers.
In summary, I’d give my Honda at least 8 or maybe even 9 out of 10!
My understanding from Ebay is that because "Payment on Collection" is thecompulsory method for large items that cannot be posted, when the buyerselects"Pay Now" the funds are held by Ebay and marked as 'pending' and will not be released until, in this case, the moped has been collected. This to offer protection to both the buyer and seller.
Buyer to collect or arrange a courier. The Honda is located in Ayrshire.
