Used 1974 Norton Commando 850 Mk2

Seller Description

This listing is for the engine, gearbox and frame of a Norton
Commando 850 Mk2 manufactured in 1974, it was imported as a complete machine
from the USA and I have the NOVA registration document with it. The numbers all
match and I have a manufacturer record supplied by Andover Norton recording
that it was built between 16th and 26th July 1974 so as a rebuild project everything
is there to allow its registration.
Please note that I did not have this motorcycle running
prior to stripping down but from what I was able to check it seemed in good
order with good compression on the engine which was borne out when I removed
the head, all looks well within the bores. I was able to change gears on the
gearbox but again not in the running condition. There are some items which need
pointing out:

there is some fin damage on the barrels and a
previous repair can be seen, what is still evident as damage could be repaired.

connections on the cylinder head has been damaged and a repair can be seen

there is some grazing on one of the engine

The frame is extremely straight with no obvious damage, some
slight surface rust but with the majority of its original coating intact, ware
to the coating in places.

I had originally intended to rebuild but lack of time now means
I am now selling. I have tried to be as descriptive as I can in the condition
of the engine and gearbox but again stress I have not seen this running, I have
no reason to believe there are any major issues. I can provide additional
pictures if required.

courier at a prearranged time. I may be prepared to deliver up to 40 miles.
