Seller Description
Royal Enfield 350 Bullet – 1955 Redditch ModelI have had this bullet for quite a few years now and after the initial main restoration tasks – big & small end repair (by Alpha), engine rebuild, paint, wheels etc. I have continued to tinker with it and have settled on the scrambler look that you can see. There really is far too much to list here but as you can see from the photos the bills are extensive – I should have bought shares in Hitchcocks! The mileage on the speedo is correct since rebuild of the bottom end (51 miles) since then the engine has also had a rebore and head rebuilt (new valves, guides and seats). The wheels are new British chrome from Central, stainless spokes and brass nipples new bearings and brake linings, front brake is the double sided type.
Frame and all other chassis components black gloss powder coated.Forks have had new stanchions and rebuilt with seals and bushes where possible / necessary. All the levers and most cables have been renewed. Electronic ignition. New clutch. New carb.New Hitchcocks trials top yoke and Smiths speedo, headlight binnacle and switchgear. For anyone bidding who is new to classic bikes and particularly British bear in mind that this is 66 years old and although this bike does start relatively easily there is a knack and it does need tinkering with to keep it ready to ride. It does leak oil, not much, but it does - it’s a “Royal Oilfield”. If you are looking for a classic British bike to potter up to the pub on a summer evening then this is for you.If you wanted to convert this to a more original layout I do have the headlight casquette, fork covers and tool boxes all painted as per the tank in the original colour for this particular frame number "Polychromatic Silver Grey" This would be under a separate negotiation to the sale price of the bike.
I will also supply the original dating certificate from Royal Enfield Owners Club - certifying that this is a genuine 1955 Redditch built bullet.More than happy to answer any questions you have, settlement will be cash on collection or bank transfer (preferred). Happy to work with motorcycle couriers if you need to use them.On 23-Feb-21 at 20:03:30 GMT, seller added the following information:There have been a few question regarding starting and how it runs so I am adding a YouTube video - as you can see from a cold start it is a little smokey but soon clears and this is down to the wet sumping "feature"of old Enfields.
