Seller Description
Triumph Tiger 900 (1994) 885 Carby
model
If you want a classic 25yr old bike this is a beauty. Its a solid unit suited to interstate riding, has terrific long travel suspension for corrugated roads. Feels good when loaded with passenger and gear.Loves twisties and last Sunday's ride cruizing at 110kpm yielded 4.6L/100km. This unit is well maintained.
Kilometres are low and judging by wear and tear on bike accurate.
It has Five mths Victorian rego left. But now its hit 25yrs old you can get club plates in Vic.
The bright paintwork and design always gets comments and most think it is a much newer model. It has some scratches in paintwork, lso lost first layer paint on rear rack from occy straps. Hardguards have scratches from falling over in car park. Seat is in excellent condition - no tears. Mufflers in as new condition. New X chain. The 25litre tank is great for touring. Ikon springs upgrade is terrific. K and N foam filter
It has a choke and you need to use it to start the bike. An easy knack once your shown. It takes 15minutes to warm up then its smooth.
No major modifications from original. Even the blinkers are original!I have bought a smaller bike and thats all I need. No joy rides! But happy to answer any question and send extra photos.
(From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)The original Tiger 900, manufactured by Triumph Motorcycles Ltd was introduced in 1993 and remained in production with minor improvements until 1998. Known to its fans as the 'Steamer', a nickname identifying it as a Hinckley Tiger, not a Meriden Tiger, and also distinguishing it as a carburettor, not fuel injected engine, this 885 cc dual sport motorcycle sold in comparatively small numbers in its native UK, but with some relative success in the USA and continental Europe, particularly Germany.
The 'steamer' has proved a durable and tough motorcycle as befits its Dakar Rally type image
Other notable characteristics of the 'steamer' include the strong 885 cc three cylinder engine and the seat height, both of which conspire to give a dominant riding position with the ability to see over other traffic.
