The production version was preceded by the Peugeot 308 RCZ concept car, which was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2007. The Peugeot RCZ is an exclusive coupe (2 + 2) that not only attracts the eye, but also gives driving pleasure. The Peugeot RCZ salon is distinguished not only by its elegance and modern equipment, but also by its wide transformation possibilities. To make it easier to drive on steep roads, Hill Assist is provided in every trim, as well as ESP, which on all versions of the model with a manual transmission is supplemented with a power distribution control function (a redesigned ASR system that automatically distributes power to the two front wheels depending on conditiontrack), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Brake Force Distribution (EBFD) and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA). The DSC, ASR and EBA systems can be manually deactivated (ESP off function) so that the driver can fully enjoy all the vehicle's capabilities.

Peugeot RCZ vehicles are assembled at the Magna Steyr plant in Graz, Austria. This plant specializes in the production of small quantities of exclusive vehicles.
