NISSAN Almera Tino (in Japan, just Tino) is a compact minivan based on the Sunny model (Japanese version of Nissan Almera). This is a versatile vehicle for everyday driving in the city (especially with a CVT variator), and for transporting bulky household goods, and for long trips with a large family.

The car was first shown in the fall of 1998. A prototype of the European modification was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in the spring of 1999, and a year later its production began at the Nissan Motor Iberica plant in Barcelona (Spain). The work on Tino took three years and was carried out, mainly by European specialists at Nissan Technical Center in the UK. The Almera Tino is expected to gradually replace the outdated Sunny Traveler 5-door station wagon.

The Almera Tino compact wagon of increased capacity (UPV) is created on the same type platform of the MS (medium-small) type, on which the sedan and hatchback Nissan Almera 2000 model year are also produced, and competes with the European Renault Scenic and Opel Zatira. Despite the fact that when developing the design, the company's specialists focused on creating a car for the whole family, the key point was achievede of the most dynamic and sporty look. Almera Tino is 85 mm longer than the 3- and 5-door Nissan Almera, but at the same time with a length of 4270 mm it is shorter than many competitors among the UPV. At 1,610 mm high and 1,760 mm wide, the Almera Tino is one of the most compact in its class.

The design of Tino attracts attention: the body has a graceful streamline shape, the side skirts give a swift look. Notable are the tall, vertical taillights on the body pillars and the functional headlights unique to Europe.

The car has an original convertible interior. YouAvailable in several trim levels: Comfort, Ambience and Luxuri. The Almera Tino brings the concept of "ultra-practical" to the traditional interior of compact minivans, adding a number of innovations that make the trip as comfortable and practical for all family members as possible. Despite the relatively short length of 4.27 m, the Tino's useful volume is one of the most respectable in the class. The 5-seater saloon offers 24 different seating arrangements, optimally suited for a multitude of everyday situations. Thanks to the special side mechanismnya cannot be pushed back if they are not installed correctly. The two outer seats have Isofix type child seat anchorages, which guarantee maximum safety when transporting small children. The rear row side seats are longitudinally movable and can be independently tilted 6 degrees rearward and 9 degrees forward, increasing luggage space. The removed center rear seat provides an additional 200mm of space. Even with all five seats, the outer rear seats of the Almera Tino slide forward 90 mm. The main advantage is a spacious trunk (440 liters) (when accommodating 5 passengers), the volume of which can be easily increased to 1030 liters by removing the rear row of seats. In addition, when the center rear seat is folded down, you can use the two cup holders on the back, and its flat surface can be used as a table. The seats in the Tino are high enough that you don't get into the car, as in a regular car, but you enter. And immediately you are amazed at the inner space - there is a feelingthat got into the car of a class higher. The Almera Tino is 50mm wider than the Nissan Almera, allowing designers to increase the space between the front seats. The specially designed center console, front seat back designs and head restraints, additional space between the front seats - all this creates an excellent view in the car, including for monitoring children in the back seat. "Children's" seats are perfectly visible by the driver in the rear-view mirror. The idea of creating an open atmThe spheres of the salon for children are another original solution of the company's designers. The rear seats are 25mm higher than the front seats, which, combined with large windows, makes the Almera Tino's rear seats the most enjoyable for travelers.

The impression is reinforced by the unusual architecture of the front panel, which is made inclined - starting near the windshield, it smoothly drops down. The panel, as it were, flows down to the central part, crowned with a microclimate control unit, and the successful play of upholstery colors enhances the feeling of lightness, airodds. Harmony is disturbed by an overloaded instrument panel. The pictograms, which in many modern cars can only be seen when the corresponding light comes on, were made here not only constantly visible, but also striking: they are plastered over the metal edging of the speedometer. A "music center" rises on the center console, which includes a CD receiver and an FM tuner. In addition to the head unit, the car is equipped with four speakers (one per door) and tweeters in the A-pillars. But the steering wheel- the main detail of the cabin is exactly the same as on ordinary "Almeri". The steering wheel is trimmed with leather, there are thickenings and perforations in the grip points, and a music remote control is located between the spokes.

All kinds of shelves, glove compartments, pockets, nets and other secrets are generously scattered throughout the cabin. Wherever you look, they are everywhere. Cup holders on the left and right on the front panel. To pick up a bottle or a glass of a drink, now you do not need to rummage around the cabin, distracting from the road: removed the lefthand from the steering wheel - and slightly extended it forward. There is a box on the front panel, and under it there is a niche for every little thing. There is a pocket with a microlift on the ceiling, where the owner of "Tino" is strongly advised to put sunglasses. Next door is a 3D interior lighting shade - a significant "lamp" with three sections, each of which has its own switch. Under each seat you can find a spacious box, and those under the rear seats conceal baskets underneathother than those in supermarkets. The shelves under the front seats should appeal to women: it is very convenient to store removable (“driver's”) shoes there. Also worth mentioning are the front door screens.

The cars are equipped with the latest 16V 1.8- and 2.0-liter engines with direct injection of gasoline into the combustion chambers with a capacity of 120 and 135 hp. The maximum speed is 155 and 165 km / h, respectively. At the same time, the 1.8-liter engine is equipped with a hydromechanical 4-speed "automatic", the 2.0-liter - a continuously variable automatic transmission.transmission CVT, which is basically a V-belt variator with a metal push-type belt, which, when the pedal is pressed to the floor, spins the engine up to 5000 rpm. But the difficulty lies in the fact that it is rather difficult to predict the actions of the variator: the energetic acceleration is uneven. The car starts moving reluctantly - the low start fails. Then, as if thinking better, the car wakes up, and acceleration becomes really acceleration. And so all the time. The "sport" button is located on the variator selector.clear transmission mode! In this mode, the car literally follows the accelerator pedal! For some markets, a 1.6-liter petrol unit is also available.

Tino is equipped with disc brakes on all wheels and ABS. The braking dynamics are beyond praise: the effort is easily metered, and keeping the wheels on the verge of the ABS will not be difficult. Thanks to the comfortable suspension, minor irregularities are practically not transmitted to the body, and the level of vertical acceleration is within acceptable limits. But serious pits are still lit is better to go around the side. The steering effort is just right. The rolls in the corners are small. Steering reactions are very soft, elastic, but at the same time quite fast and easily predictable. All this is fully preserved even with the beginning of sliding of the front wheels. And in fast corners, only the diagonal buildup is alarming.

Safety is key to the creation of the Almera Tino. Nissan has always believed in the concept of "triple security", which began with "information security", which includes excellent visibilityroads and a comfortable atmosphere in the cabin. The windshield wiper blade has an additional link that provides 97% coverage of the windshield surface and ensures excellent visibility even on a rainy day. The complex reflectors used in the rear lights and the LED brake light provide good visibility for the vehicle driving from behind. A new panoramic rear-view mirror is installed on the vehicle to provide better visibility and minimize blind spots.

The body of the Almera Tino consists of two zones, one of whichThe rykh is designed to crumple in predetermined directions, while the other is designed to remain intact even under the most severe impacts. Thus, the Almera Tino not only exceeds the requirements of the latest EU Directive for frontal collision safety, but also meets the significantly higher Euro-NCAP standards. The crumple area of the front of the car is designed in such a way that it crumples during an impact without transferring the load to the interior elements of the passenger compartment. New load cells are programmed to prevent defto improve the interior and reduce the risk of internal movement of the instrument panel, steering column and floor.

In order to increase the level of safety, "active" head restraints and a system that instantly increases the pressure in the brake system Brake Assist are introduced into the standard equipment of the car. Consumer properties are enhanced by the installation of a navigation system, glasses that prevent the penetration of ultraviolet rays into the interior.

According to studies carried out by various UK research centers and independent organizationsAmong consumers, Nissan vehicles produced in Europe have earned a reputation for being the least stolen vehicle. The anti-theft system was developed by engineers at the Nissan Technology Center in the UK in conjunction with the hijackers currently serving their sentences. The Almera Tino is the first Nissan vehicle outside the UK to be fitted with a full range of anti-theft systems.

In 2003, new versions of the Almera Tino are presented. The microvan will be available with a turbocharged dCi diesel engine. At the same time, the version with a standard 2-liter petrolnew engine and optional N-CVT transmission discontinued. If you still need a gasoline engine, you can buy a version with a 1.8-liter unit with a capacity of 114 hp. with. with a conventional 4-speed automatic transmission.

The new 2.2-liter diesel engine is available in two power options: 110 and 134 hp. If you buy a Tino with the second option, you can accelerate to 100 km / h in 10.5 seconds. The first engine is slightly more economical with less power. Engines for 110 hp will be co-aggregated with 5-speedmanual transmission, on the version with a more powerful engine there will be a 6-speed manual transmission. Whereas previously the Tino was produced in various modifications, now it will only be produced in S, SE and SVE variants.

Of the external changes, only slight changes can be noted, but the interior has been changed quite radically. Now there will be the same N-FORM console as on the new Primera. The basic configuration of the Tino S will include climate control, a CD player and an on-board computer. The SE version will feature 15-inch alloy wheels, sunroofelectronically controlled, rear-view camera for parking, finishes will be of higher quality, and rear windows will be equipped with electronic windows. Front fog lights, 16-inch alloy wheels, DVD sat nav are standard on the SVE version, and stability control is also included.
