A rare opportunity to secure this little yellow beast that has been the pride of my man cave for many years!
These trunk bikes can fit in the boot of a small Honda City with handlebars that fold away.
It has import approval papers and QLD certificate of modification for ADR compliance and plate (I assume this is required for road registration but you'll need to check with your local state road authorities what else is required).
This Motocompo is in very great condition for a 36 year old collectable. Starts / runs / rides as it should. Please use photos as part of the condition description.
If you have been following these bikes you will know they're starting to get a huge cult following and rarely up for sale.
Will not be selling with reg or RWC.
Local pickup prefer in Chelsea 3196 Victoria but can assist buyer with interstate freight if arranged by the buyer and at buyers cost.
Inspections welcome and if you have any questions, please message me.
Payment by cash. Will except paypal if the buyer pays the paypal fees.
Bit of history on the bike:
The Honda Motocompo is a folding scooter sold by Honda 1981–1983.Released in red, yellow, and white variants, the Motocompo was introduced as a "Trunk Bike" to fit inside subcompact cars like the Honda Today and the then new Honda City. The City's baggage compartment was actually developed around the Motocompo. The handlebars, seat, and foot-pegs fold into the scooter's rectangular plastic body to present a clean, box-shaped package of 1185 mm L × 240 mm W x 540 mm H. It is the smallest scooter ever built by Honda. The company's initial monthly sales projection for the domestic market was 8,000 City and 10,000 Motocompo. The City surpassed its targets, but in all only 53,369 Motocompos were sold by the end of production in 1983 (no more than 3,000 per month). It was marketed in conjunction with the City in television ads featuring British ska/2-tone band Madness.Honda City and Motocompo display at Honda Collection Hall in MotegiThe Motocompo maintains a cult status among compact bike enthusiasts for its unique design, stylized logo, and highly customizable potential. Bike meet-ups devoted to the Motocompo continue to engage with fans both young and old alike as a passionate community bonded by their enthusiasm for the retro vehicle.
