Mazda 5 offers two gasoline engines of the MZR family - 1.8 l R4 16V (115 hp, 165 Nm) and 2.0 l R4 16V (145 hp, 185 Nm) with a 5-speed manual gearbox, as well as two MZR-CD turbodiesels with a volume of 2.0 liters R4 16V to choose from - 110 hp, 310 Nm or 143 hp. and 360 Nm, both with 6-speed "mechanics". In osThese include ABS, TCS, six airbags, air conditioning, an optional 7-inch DVD entertainment center and more. There are no plans to supply diesel versions of Mazda 5 to Russia yet.

In 2008, the Mazda5 was updated. In general, there are not many changes. Outside, this is a front bumper, headlights and new (LED in some trim levels) taillights. Plus a sports body kit, which is now installed on all cars in the top-end Active configuration.

Inside there was a navigation system with a DVD and a touch screen, a hands-free kit with a Bluetooth interface, MP3 radio, a new instrument panel with white backlighting and a slightly reduced amount of silver plastic in the trim. In the pre-styling version, there were no armrests on the rear door trims. Now there are armrests, only not "stationary" in the doors, but folding ones - on the side of the seat back. But with sliding doors, this is the only solution.

For Western Europe, four engines are offered: two two-liter diesel engines with a capacity of 143 and 110 horsepower and two gasoline engines - with a volume of 1.8 and 2 liters. Basic petrol engine volume 1, 8 liters and 115 horsepower, as before the restyling, is equipped with only a five-speed mechanics.

But the two-liter engine has changed. He received an "electronic" gas pedal, slightly different injection settings and a new intake manifold. As a result, power has increased by three horsepower (up to 146), while fuel consumption and noise have decreased. Buyers of two-liter cars have a choice of transmission: a 6-speed manual transmission or a 5-band automatic.

The basic configuration includes front and side underears, curtain airbags, ABS, EBD and emergency braking assistance. An electric sliding door drive is available as an option. The audio system has received support for MP3 files.
