Buick Park Avenue 1975-1990 was a full-size Buick Electro sedan, differing from the standard version in the trim level. And since 1991 it has been an independent model. For the first time, the concept, on the basis of which the serial version began to be produced later, was presented in 1989 under the name Park Avenue Essence. For its graceful body lines, it was nicknamed "American Jaguar" (American Jaguar).

The 4-door Buick Park Avenue sedan was built on the C-platform from General Motors. Under the hood, as standard, there was a 3800 Serie power unit.s I V6 with a volume of 3.8 liters. As for the transmission, a 4T60-E 4-speed automatic transmission was installed here.

In Europe, the base version of Buick Park Avenue, sold between 1991 and 1996, looked slightly different from the North American model. The exterior changes included the following elements: modified taillights with amber diffusers; amber brake signals; larger side mirrors; different location of the front position lights.

In 1992, a top-tier version of Buick Park Avenue called the Ultra was released. Under her hood there wasThe turbocharged 3800 Series I V6 3.8-liter engine was already running, the power of which was 228 hp. at 5000 rpm (the power of the standard version was 170 hp). Also, the sedan was distinguished by an exclusive interior trim. In the future, with the advent of a new engine (3800 Series II V6) for Park Avenue, the Ultra version will produce 240 hp. at 5200 rpm, while the standard versions will be content with only 205 hp.

In 1997, the updated 4-door Buick Park Avenue sedan comes out. The car was now based on the G-platform just like the Buick Riviera. She was more durable and massier than the former C-platform. The exterior of the updated sedan had new more rounded shapes, new headlights and a new radiator grill. The 3.8-liter engine was redesigned and named 3800 Series II V6. A new 4T65-E 4-speed automatic transmission was installed for this engine.

Until 2003, there were no major changes from Buick Park Avenue. And already in 2003, the car received a new radiator grill.

For the final 2005 model year, the car receives another new radiator grille and an exclusivee gills. Also, the rear of the car has undergone stylistic changes.

In 2005, production of Buick Park Avenue was discontinued, and already in 2006, it was replaced by the Buick Lucerne.

In 2007, Buick Park Avenue was reintroduced to the Chinese market. It is a full-size car that will be built by General Motors in Shanghai based on the Australian Holden WM Statesman. The new Park Avenue will be powered by the Australian-built High Feature V6 (also known as the Alloytec V6) engine. The car will only be available for the Chinese market.
